Turnarounds

I thought that doing the turnarounds for the triangles would be really easy and straight forward, but as per normal i sadly mistaken. Its not that they were difficult but they were harder than i had ancipatded. The struggle came with getting clean outlines, its not something im used to doing and it took more time and didnt come out as good as i wanted . Whilst doing the turnaounds i played around with some colour schemes of the characters, but having the characters Red and Green, the colour way were a bit limited. I kept close to the colours and used differnt shades of the same coulour throughout the character.

Video Essay

I knew it would be best starting off before getting into editting that gathering some knowlege these two videos were pretty useful even though i didnt use any after effects but its useful to know that i can easily work between them Looking at other peoples making of videos as well as the stuff Annabeth posted on Blackboard i was pretty confident in what i needed to do. So i started writing down what footage along with what i wanted to say Gathering the footage was a bit tedious, and i tried to cut out footage that i didn't need, i felt like the 3 minute mark was a good place, not too long not too short.   I thought id had confidecne with my voiceover but it was horrible, i was lucky that the room i recorded in had good aucoustics and it doesnt sound ultra horrible  i was pretty happy with how the video essay turned out even though its a bit cringe

Furthering into perspective

Im coming closer to realisation that storyboarding is a field that i want to keep exploring. This past semester we been tasked with a range of different mediums and techniuiqes which has been super challenging, requiring me to learn something new. The only problem I've had is that I get so tired from the research, I dont have the power to work and produce work I'm happy with. This is a minor problem as i know over time i'll become way more adpet and will have a much smoother workflow. I can say though that because of all this research time, I fallen back in love with drawing again. Maybe it has something to do with chris' life drawing classes but im actually drawing for fun again, and this is a feeling that i havent had for year. I'm trying drawing to become my new form of procrastination, because my mind just loves putting off work.  This is a kind of 'procrastinion i did, when i should of been trying to do some modelling in maya i wanted to draw more s

UV maps and uni computers

I feel like I should use the Photoshop link into Maya as its software that i can already use. While using it it feels more natural anyway so hopefully enjoy it. The uni computers preferences do my head in and its so annoying that i have to re change every time that i log on to a computer I glad that modelling in Maya has become easier. I didn't have a clue where we stared and now i feel like i could attack most challenges (modelling) although Im probably wrong. I got an email back from Ian Water and told me i could meet him but our messages have been few and far inbetween

viking sketch for fun

Really quick sketch, He started off has a fat jolly man. Now hes a commander encouraging his clan over the next horizon.

Using indesign

Another program I'm going to haven't to get to grips using. I don't know why most of the features are so different to Photoshop where I'm sure it would be easy enough to do the same thing. But alas we have been told to learn this program. Johnny showed me a way to get the master pages numbered, but for some reason it wasn't working for me. I guess i must of done something wrong but i couldn't figure it out even after an extreme google search. So i did the next best thing and asked Kira how to do it and she showed me a different method but it work fine and i think it was easier to remember.  so her method was to use the rectangular frame tool  then use the text tool inside that frame right click and place a special character in for the current page number. It did exactly what johnny had showed me.  these are some inspirational magazine articles i found that i would like my final design to look like.

trying times - story outline

Three best friend triangles are chilling out on a summer’s day having a bbq. They decide it would be nice to take a picture of this day. But whilst taking the photo the mischievous red makes bunny ears behind Greens head ruining the photo. They begin to argue and silver in the back gets bored and wonders off. Once the bbq is set alight they notice their friend is missing and go off to search for their friend. Red quickly notices a triangle face down in the dirt but once they flip him over they realize it’s not their friend and it’s a different triangle. This mustached triangle points in the forest and after following the path they see it leads up the mountain. Once to the top of the mountain, red immediately notices another triangle in bushes and rums on towards into the bush. He jumps out immediately and is chased by a giant rhino, red and green run away and climb a tree to escape. At the top of the tree red sees another triangle in the water and without thinking he jumps into to the

backgrounds

I had some initial designs that i had done during my storyboard, as i took the time to flesh out the island. With some help with Chris i came to 2 final designs for the beach and the mountain top. The suggestion he made for having a second level to the waterfall, really added to the moutain tops design. From these concepts i quickly painted up versions to move in to Photoshop. The practice i had from the previous storyboard brief really aided me in colouring the backgrounds. They aren't completely to my artistic taste but for the purpose of the story, it fits fell with character designs.
