Video Essay

I knew it would be best starting off before getting into editting that gathering some knowlege
these two videos were pretty useful even though i didnt use any after effects but its useful to know that i can easily work between them

Looking at other peoples making of videos as well as the stuff Annabeth posted on Blackboard i was pretty confident in what i needed to do.
So i started writing down what footage along with what i wanted to say

Gathering the footage was a bit tedious, and i tried to cut out footage that i didn't need, i felt like the 3 minute mark was a good place, not too long not too short.

I thought id had confidecne with my voiceover but it was horrible, i was lucky that the room i recorded in had good aucoustics and it doesnt sound ultra horrible

i was pretty happy with how the video essay turned out even though its a bit cringe

Furthering into perspective

Im coming closer to realisation that storyboarding is a field that i want to keep exploring. This past semester we been tasked with a range of different mediums and techniuiqes which has been super challenging, requiring me to learn something new. The only problem I've had is that I get so tired from the research, I dont have the power to work and produce work I'm happy with. This is a minor problem as i know over time i'll become way more adpet and will have a much smoother workflow. I can say though that because of all this research time, I fallen back in love with drawing again. Maybe it has something to do with chris' life drawing classes but im actually drawing for fun again, and this is a feeling that i havent had for year. I'm trying drawing to become my new form of procrastination, because my mind just loves putting off work.  This is a kind of 'procrastinion i did, when i should of been trying to do some modelling in maya i wanted to draw more s...

Performance & Charcter - Run, Climb, Jump, Pickup and Throw

Chased First week back and we've already been tasked with a challenging animation, which consists of a run into the character climbing a wall, then jumping down, and after the character lands they then pick up an item and throw it. Joe and Johnny spent the majority of the class talking about acting and performance which is obvious considering the title of the course. Johnny was advertising his favourite author Desmond Morris, which he recommend for my context essay last year which I obviously didn’t read but johnny previewed chapters on gesture and posing which really caught my interest. What I did read was the book by Ed Hooks, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading that. We don’t have to have the animation finished for this week but I think it would be best to get a head of the work instead of letting it pile up. The work we do have to have done for this week is creating the biography of the character, bar sheets and story board. Joe was very clear in his explanation of...

Belbin - Making of

Belbin roles - Making a balanced team  Going into this session, I still hadn't decided on which group i want to join but Annabeth said it should be decided by the end of this session. I had offers from a few groups but decided to join up with Jolanta, Elena and Alisha as i knew i wanted to another attempt at a 2-D group project and i felt like this team had good chemistry and was full of talented artists. Annabeth explained Belbin roles to us and how these 9 personalities make a strong balanced team.  When going through the Belbin roles i found that these four applied best to me;   Monitor Evaluator  -  I feel this suits me well as i know that the critical side of my brain is over developed and have always thought i had sound judgement when it came to decision making. Working very slowly resonated too deeply and is something I'm trying to work on. Team Worker -  I feel that my social relation when working in a group is always good,...
