Ball bounces - Stop motion

After my last failure in stop motion, I ended up venting to Poli, and she really doesn't enjoy stop motion because of its tedious nature. So we both decided to work together the next time we did stop motion. I have to say that it was far more enjoyable with another person there as a second pair of eyes I think is always great to have, especially in art as your eyes can play tricks on you and tell something looks correct but in reality it's far from accurate. We were quite dead but we thought it would be best to record footage so have something to go off.  00068 from muntasir chowdhurry on Vimeo . It saddens me that poli doesn't enjoy stop motion because she a great eye for it and her method of working through it is far better than mine. When I was alone I was just doing frame after frame blasting through as fast as I could but with poli, she would flip through the last few previous frames before committing to the shot and moving on to the next frame. Finally doing the story board for 'The Dude and the Dog'

Having the full concept and script done for 'the dude and the dog' is a giant relief. We spent far too long on this part, but i think that was down to not having the whole of the team participating the script writing or not enjoying the script as a whole. We haven't even strayed too far from the initial concept but i think that was a strength as keeping the message strong was very important to Indya. I will be first to point the blame to myself in regards to the time management but i made clear from the start that was my weakest point and to be fair I think all of us are in a similar boat. We dont have much time to do the animation before the show but im not that stressed about it at the minute as while me and indya were writing the script, we kept in mind to be able to reuse certain scenes. I am quite please with the final idea and how the interaction works, i do think though that if we had the whole team participating in the writing process we would of had it fin

Final scenes for 'working not begging'

Now that we had the first scene me and Indya went into town to shoot the footage to work on. It was a bit embarrassing but drawing in public settings gives the same feeling. We found a good spot behind print works, with a tramlines and construction in the background, an environment I'd associate with Manchester.  So after we had gotten the footage we went back to peel park to finish the ideas for the last scene. Because now the scenes were a conversation, we were thinking of what the different conversations could be. The first ends scene ends with the two characters meeting each other so it would make sense to put the decision in there. The idea we came up with was that the decision is what your response is when a stranger approaches you. The four options would be levels of emotion you have to the question, 'do you have a minute to spare?'. If you pick the most negative option you wouldn't get any information and if you pick the most positive option you'd

Ball bounce - Maya

I think one of the most important things of animation is having good references, I've spoken to a lot of other class mates and they give me the feeling that using references is inferior in a way, which I understand, doing things completely from memory is certainly impressive but for me I'm not even close the skill level to be able to draw from memory let alone animate from memory. I say this because I was struggling to find good references on the Internet for ball bounces, I was a bit flabbergasted by this as with years of animation students coming throughout the world you would of thought there would of be an abundance of good ball bounce references. I did in the end find a really good video with multiple bounces and that's what I went off.  We haven't really dove into deep in Maya so what we've been tasked with hasn't given me a headache but just time taken up, mostly me having fiddles with what looks right and usually going too far and it ends up

Where is the group??

Since the group got divided, the groups harmony has just been non existent. I know Poli and Maddy are waiting to the animation but I find it really frustrating that they're not being involved in helping create the scenes. If Indya had her way we would of scrapped that they wanted, which was Maddy's dog and Polis positive message. I've been trying to come up with a way that we could get the dog involved in the actual animation, and my initial idea was that the homeless dude spends his money on his friends; a pack of dogs.  This was inspired by the story of Dobri Drobrev Indya wasn't too pleased with idea and wanted something more hard hitting. So I then suggested the idea of 'hats for the homeless' in which the character spends his money on hats for other homeless people, this idea was inspired by the subway campaign of trading in gloves for a free sub.  Again Indya wasn't too pleased with the idea so we were in a bit of a block.
