Background of the background

Going to use this brief as a away to improve on my perspective and draw as much as i can. I'm definately attracted to the stranded on a tropical isalnd. WILSON!! I do think I'll have some fun with this assaignment  After getting together a mood board i thought id be best to research some real life survival stories but i quickly regretted that. The stories that came up were so sad and depressing and i really didnt want my island to have that atmosphere  In all my research I only found of one instance where the survivor didn't mentally break down. It was a New Zealander called Tom Neal. His story is so weird, it just seemed he wanted to get away from his wife and family, bit of a dickhead move in my opinion.

Perspective 1

Honestly I cant understand how I've become so bad at perspective. Maybe it's I used to do from a full technical way and I never really did it free hand. But even still I'm shock how hard i found it and it looks so shit I think it's kind of good in a way. Finding my weakness and strengthening them will only help me as an artist. Need to do further research either by ready books or watching YouTube videos and practice, practice and more practice. I hated doing the floor plan. Working out the measurements and scale did my head in. I'm pretty good at this, better than perspective anyway but I know 100% this isn't what I want to do.

Interaction - Stop motion

The interaction task has been the most enjoyable as I've been able create something more imaginative than just a block moving from A-B. This was a bit of a downfall for interaction as i had planned out the interaction in a previous session with a storyboard and barsheet. The animation was far too long, and too ambitious and i realised this after my last stop motion session with Poli. I decided that it would be best to do at least half of what i had planned, and if i wasn't brain dead by the end then id continue    quick brainstorm I had Poli with me again and it does make stop motion a lot easier but i do feel that I'm not learning everything i could if i was doing it alone. I think next time i should do it by myself for a comparison of how difficult it is. I'm fairly sure when I'm alone, I'm going to struggle a lot more but i can see that being beneficial to me as I'm finding out the more pain i put my self through the more i tend to

The monster called Itani

Had a lot of difficulty making him look the same from different angles, Indya was taking the piss of how slow I work but I think they look good The area i had most difficulty was wirh side view. I couldnt draw it from the full side and have it look like the character still. What ended up happening was that i sraw a side/ 3/4 veiw. Emotions were more fun, Ive always preferred drawing faces and expressions. The challenge I had with this was face was a skull and a skull can't really emote. I decided to add eyebrows so it was a bit of cheat. A big feature of the character is the eyes so I think emphasizing them will only add the strength of the character. The character already had a lot of personality but adding emotions and body language add so much more personality I was surprised. I did a really simple colour way for him, i think the green suits him the most as it gives off a smelly and foul vibe, which is what i was intending. The rest didn't re

Devil and demons - turnaround and emotions

disclaimer i lost my bag which had the rough 10 sketches as well as the poststick nots for the old lion and the fox, ive redone both but the orginals were much better  I've been really enjoying these tasks that Annabeth has been setting us, this being no different. After to speaking to a few people the character that people liked the most was actually my favourite too. I has missed the lecture that this was assigned to us but there was enough information on blackboard to go off that I was lost on what to do. While doing the turnarounds I came to the unfortunate realisation that I was struggling with getting my character to look consistently like its self from different angles. I'm guessing this was the point of the task and this is one of the reason I'm loving this course because I know how much I have to progress and these tasks are shining a light on them. It's a bit sad because personally I like it and I know that's what it takes to improve but on the

So I got to do some animating + egg day

I thought that I had given enough time to Poli and Maddy to do the first scene but it's been over a week since they started it and it looks like they'll get the first scene done just in time for the show. So working on the second scene and all the options was put to me, it wasn't too difficult just took a lot of time because of the different emotions and gestures each character makes. I thought I'd give toon boon a try but regretted that decision immediately because I didn't the foggiest idea of what I was doing.  With the time crunch I didn't think it was wise to try and learn a new animation software two days before the show, so I went back to photoshop because I'm more familiar using it.  I started off the same way Poli and Maddy started theirs, by creating silhouettes of each pose. Then using a drawing Maddy had sent us I drew each pose out. When I had this done, Poli had finished her job on the first scene and so she was available to
