Where is the group??

Since the group got divided, the groups harmony has just been non existent. I know Poli and Maddy are waiting to the animation but I find it really frustrating that they're not being involved in helping create the scenes. If Indya had her way we would of scrapped that they wanted, which was Maddy's dog and Polis positive message. I've been trying to come up with a way that we could get the dog involved in the actual animation, and my initial idea was that the homeless dude spends his money on his friends; a pack of dogs.  This was inspired by the story of Dobri Drobrev

See This Old Man? Here's Why He Is One Of The Best People In The World

Indya wasn't too pleased with idea and wanted something more hard hitting. So I then suggested the idea of 'hats for the homeless' in which the character spends his money on hats for other homeless people, this idea was inspired by the subway campaign of trading in gloves for a free sub.

Again Indya wasn't too pleased with the idea so we were in a bit of a block. After speaking to Annabeth we came to the conclusion that it would be best to keep to the roots and simply make the animation about  informing people on the big issue and what it does in a simple conversation. So now we had to come up with a way that that the two characters interacted. This is where Maddy's dog came in to play, and we thought it would be great in the dog is the reason they began speaking, so the idea was that the second character (guy/Johnny) would drop an item such as keys or wallet and the dog would be the one to notice it and then the two characters would then meet.

Now that we've simplified the idea dramatically, and we have the first scene done and the Poli and Maddy can work on it after I've done the storyboard for them.

Video Essay

I knew it would be best starting off before getting into editting that gathering some knowlege these two videos were pretty useful even though i didnt use any after effects but its useful to know that i can easily work between them Looking at other peoples making of videos as well as the stuff Annabeth posted on Blackboard i was pretty confident in what i needed to do. So i started writing down what footage along with what i wanted to say Gathering the footage was a bit tedious, and i tried to cut out footage that i didn't need, i felt like the 3 minute mark was a good place, not too long not too short.   I thought id had confidecne with my voiceover but it was horrible, i was lucky that the room i recorded in had good aucoustics and it doesnt sound ultra horrible  i was pretty happy with how the video essay turned out even though its a bit cringe

Belbin - Making of

Belbin roles - Making a balanced team  Going into this session, I still hadn't decided on which group i want to join but Annabeth said it should be decided by the end of this session. I had offers from a few groups but decided to join up with Jolanta, Elena and Alisha as i knew i wanted to another attempt at a 2-D group project and i felt like this team had good chemistry and was full of talented artists. Annabeth explained Belbin roles to us and how these 9 personalities make a strong balanced team.  When going through the Belbin roles i found that these four applied best to me;   Monitor Evaluator  -  I feel this suits me well as i know that the critical side of my brain is over developed and have always thought i had sound judgement when it came to decision making. Working very slowly resonated too deeply and is something I'm trying to work on. Team Worker -  I feel that my social relation when working in a group is always good,...

Trying to give triangles life

I knew Chris was going to be in the afternoon lecture and i hadnt gotten much round to doing any character designs for script to screen, mainly because they were traingles and i didn't think it would be too difficult. When i got round to it i was struggling to give the characters personality and they just looked really flat. I experimented with creating more complicated designs using a verity of triangles but because the story i had in mind was light hearted and comedic i thought it'd be best to keep with a more cartoonty simple style. Howver i was still left with the problem of the designs looking lifeless When lecture came about chris thought it'd be best to go back to basics and focus on gesture lines and had us in groups create actions and to draw them out. I enjoyed working with my group, but talking to people after class it seemed like half the class didn't enjoy it which kind of baffled me Near the end of class i got chris to look at my des...
