Birds eye view of a bird - Global Bird - Scene 3

I took over Aidans shot, as he had a lot more work to do because lack of help from Alisha, and she had done a shot that was listed for me and i had already started it, the lack of communication from her and minimal effort made caused a lot of problems, mainly for Elena and Aidan. I knew the back shot i did of the bird had the potential to work in the scene. After my first edit  it still looked like it was nose diving still even after i fixed the size a added lines to make it seem that from a different angle. I don't have any working of this as i worked through this fairly quickly. After I showed it to Annabeth, she suggested the wings need a slight bit of altering and I changed about 3 frames and and the beak positioning, after i did this it looked much better. All that was left was the tail which was out of perspective now but after i fixed that the animation looked strong in my opinion. All that was left was to sync and test with Aidans city shot, which worked perfectly.

Trying to give triangles life

I knew Chris was going to be in the afternoon lecture and i hadnt gotten much round to doing any character designs for script to screen, mainly because they were traingles and i didn't think it would be too difficult. When i got round to it i was struggling to give the characters personality and they just looked really flat. I experimented with creating more complicated designs using a verity of triangles but because the story i had in mind was light hearted and comedic i thought it'd be best to keep with a more cartoonty simple style. Howver i was still left with the problem of the designs looking lifeless When lecture came about chris thought it'd be best to go back to basics and focus on gesture lines and had us in groups create actions and to draw them out. I enjoyed working with my group, but talking to people after class it seemed like half the class didn't enjoy it which kind of baffled me Near the end of class i got chris to look at my des...

Video Essay

I knew it would be best starting off before getting into editting that gathering some knowlege these two videos were pretty useful even though i didnt use any after effects but its useful to know that i can easily work between them Looking at other peoples making of videos as well as the stuff Annabeth posted on Blackboard i was pretty confident in what i needed to do. So i started writing down what footage along with what i wanted to say Gathering the footage was a bit tedious, and i tried to cut out footage that i didn't need, i felt like the 3 minute mark was a good place, not too long not too short.   I thought id had confidecne with my voiceover but it was horrible, i was lucky that the room i recorded in had good aucoustics and it doesnt sound ultra horrible  i was pretty happy with how the video essay turned out even though its a bit cringe

James' Balls and other parts - Making of - A.E sessions

After effects sessions Ball bounces and pendulum  Annabeth and Jame thought it would be best to teach the class the basics of after effects and have us all have a basic under standing of the software. I was fairly familiar with after effects as there's is almost an endless supply of tutorials online but I think shows the depth that after effects can go into. We started off with simple functional animations such as the ball bounce and pendulum, i wish that we learned this last year as it was far easier to in after effects, and i think would of assisted me in stop mo and definitely in Maya.  As you can see the graphs are much clearer and i think easier to understand, this kind of knowledge is really useful as most people would think this is really complicated but to us animators this is much friendlier to us.  As well as the ball we did a pendulum, and furthered that and made a leg with moving parts using the bone tool. I ...
